I tend to find the 'comedy' on Radio 4 -- or 'Radio glo'al', as it is now -- to be pitiful, and I avoid it wherever possible.

In the last couple of weeks, though, there's been a radio on in the room that I can't smash -- and on two occasions I've heard the actual word 'shit' said in an early evening comedy show.

Yet there's been no furore of the 'Whatever happened to our sacred Broadcasting Standards?' sort.

Has anyone else noticed this? I confess that I am rather shocked. Not by the vulgarity so much as the naked fucking *desperation*: it's pretty clear that a deliberate policy decision has been made to allow this.
