Ed said: 'Thought Jones was good on Israel' - he was fine from what I saw, though you could tell there were lines he wouldn't cross, eg: insisting on the right of Palestinians to resist w/ violence if necessary. Also he never stopped endorsing the a/s scam, which was a huge part of israel's propaganda war, and in many ways paved the way for the genocide in the first place (along with politically excluding those who would have opposed it most strongly). He would make the argument of there being value in having dissent in the msm, but that gets into the figleaf issue of whether it's better to encourage independent media that isn't structurally obliged to lie the public in to wars at every opportunity, rather than attempt to put all your faith into one or two lonely voices of supposedly decent, principled corporate journos - who in the end turn out to not be all that decent or principled if you look at their actual record. I don't feel like I missed out by not watching his channel, choosing to look at outlets like Electronic Intifada and the Grayzone etc. instead. Maybe there was one revelation about the BBC and Raffi Berg that came out because of his reporting and wouldn't have otherwise, but other than that not sure he really brought anything new or original to the table. cheers, I
