In general it's seems clear that the US dog doesn't get wagged by the apartheid state tail, but both things can be true to some extent.

Elements in the US MIC clearly realised this was going to be a mess and would have advised the US not to go to war, but the lobby have also put huge pressure (the word doing a lot of heavy lifting there as it includes all the potential Epsteiny/blackmaily stuff) on donny scumbag to exercise his CIC decision making to get them into this. I don't think it's ever totally concrete; if the US doesn't want it, it doesn't happen. The ZOG in the US can push marginal, unpopular decisions over the line, as I think may have happened here.

One thing I've not seen commented on too much is how the apartheid state are using the Iran war as cover to ethnically cleanse more of Lebanon as that is getting very little coverage in the msm, other than of the "air strikes in Lebanon", a few lines and then on to other news variety.
