Reeks of privilege that they choose to hide behind BS narratives of 'safety' and 'trauma' to push away the horrors people are facing in Palestine, and disclaim any responsibility with the 'let's only talk about local issues' excuse. As the one sensible person in there points out, what the hell is climate change if not the most global issue possible? I don't recall edicts against speaking about that, in fact it seems to be positively encouraged. You could view it as zionism infecting their politics by emphasising the feelings of white Jews over & above the lives & entire societies of Arabs, but I think it's probably more likely to be a colonial mindset that prevailed in European countries long before the apartheid ethno-state came along. They probably learned it from us: Thou shalt not consider the suffering of the Unpeople on which your status and access to wealth & resources is built. jeers all the same, I
