Trump's criminal attack on Venezuela has thrown Cuba into a tailspin of crisis
as the island nation lost access to the oil that had been its most important
source of energy in recent decades, making up for the loss of oil from the
former Soviet Union. A month ago, with Cuba plunged in powercuts, Trump told
reporters '"I believe I will have the honour of taking Cuba," "I mean, whether I
free it, take it - I think I could do anything I want."
But can he? Though Cuba is a tiny island nation of fewer than 10 million people,
it did not succumb to nearly 70 years of unremitting hostility, threats and
sanctions from Washington and it not about to. And the world is changing and
(yes) help is on the way. Discover how in this Geopolitical Economy Hour with
three sterling scholars of and activists on Cuba, Helen Yaffee, Arnold August
and Isaac Saney. Their deep scholarship and on the ground experience and
knowledge about Cuba is eye-opening.
