UK Local elections on 7 May are widely expected to lead to a drubbing for both
major parties and possibly to the end of Sir Keir Starmer as Prime
Minister. What's going on? A casual observer of the last decade and a half in
British politics might be forgiven for thinking it's been about Brexit,
immigration and illegal immigration, small boats coming across the English
channel, the amount being spent on housing and transporting and generally
servicing those awaiting their refugee hearings, Epstein and a host of other
largely "cultural" issues.
However, many critical and serious observers have been arguing for some time
that it is because of the economic policies of successive UK governments which
have never addressed but exacerbated the long-standing economic malaise of this
country. Radhika is one such observer and she is joined by another, Aeron Davis,
author of how the UK Treasury had contributed to Britin's deep and wide
political crisis.
