I've been giving my cat "wet hands" and he's really taken to it now. He's lying in some shady spot in the garden and I take a jug of cold water out, dip my hands in it and then stroke it into his fur and keep doing that until you can really see it. At first (this was a few heatwaves ago) he was a big wary and I had to sort of chase him around a bit, but now he knows it cools him down and he turns over to get each side done and the lies on his back for the belly cooler and really loves it. It really seems to keep help. I'm doing that every couple of hours, especially on days like this.

You may already do this but if not, it might be useful. You do need to be conservative at the start just so they get the idea but once they feel it working they should take to it.

Today quite humid too which is always the worst. I saw lightning and storms forecast for last night but I didn't hear any of it and it doesn't feel like it's cleared. After today it goes back down to a more manageable 23-26 somewhere there which is better. Anyway, try the "wet hands"; they will thank you (or scratch your eyes out depending :D)
