The above piece has to be read to be believed. The author boasts of her previous magnum opus as preface to Ukrainian women’s heroism:

" One of the more intriguing (and heartening) consequences of Ukraine’s four-year struggle against Vladimir Putin’s despotism has been the shift in perception of what women are capable of.

I argued in my recent book Good Slut: How Money, Sex and Power Set Women Free that the pervasive idea that we aren’t brave, focused and tough enough for front-line military work is nonsense."

You can’t make this up.

Her angle is that women should be sent to the front in Ukraine not because Ukrainian manpower is depleted and fighting-age males are becoming hard to come by, but simply because Ukrainian women have ‘proven’ themselves to be heroic and above the cut. This is a darkly manipulative attempt to sell off Ukraine’s women to the killing fields by repackaging crisis as glorification—a truly heinous and despicable bit of gaslighting.
