Rachel Jupp has just been handed the keys to the BBC’s news and current affairs kingdom, which is a bit like putting the arsonist in charge of the fire brigade, given her starring role as Panorama editor during the 2019 Jeremy Corbyn antisemitism hit job. The Forde Report politely called Panorama’s coverage ‘partial and misleading’, translation: they cooked the books and served them up cold, while the BBC, ever the master of self-exoneration, insists the programme passed its complaints process and Ofcom’s impartiality test, as if that means anything to anyone outside Broadcasting House. So let’s take a stroll through Jupp’s meteoric rise, her conveniently public family ties to a Labour MP, and the latest episode of Chris Mason’s ‘How to Frame the Greens as Zionist Heretics’ featuring Zack Polanski, which ties into all of this mess as well. The BBC says it wants our trust. Maybe it should try telling the truth first.
