A more "down is up" inversion of the truth would be hard to find, but that's not surprising given it's from the execrable Tisdall; a lickspittle of the lowest kind. The real source of complaint is evident in the first couple of paragraphs: Donald Trump’s sudden decision to pull US troops out of Syria, and slash the numbers deployed in Afghanistan, came as a nasty shock to Britain, regional allies such as Israel Mattis did not specifically mention Syria and Afghanistan but he warned that Trump was placing US security at risk by letting down and denigrating America’s friends and allies. ...stalwart allies of the US and its European partners in the largely successful fight to degrade and destroy Islamic State. No mention of course that it was actually Russia who did all the heavy lifting (which major 20th century even does that remind you of?). Once again it does look like the Kurds will get shafted but why they would trust this collection of psychopaths when they say "No, honestly, this time we won't #### you" I have no idea. |
