a)because they had zero understanding of what it really meant, and b) because their heads were filled with shite about immigration and terrorism and nationalistic breast beating.

You would think that readers & contributors to a site that specifically focuses on the power of the media would be able to see this but it seems that media analysis is acceptable on any other subject but Brexit were we are asked to believe apparently - unlike all other forms of political opinion which we might rightly put under the media microscope, the media had no sway at all.

According to what our resident Brexiteers state, the vote encapsulated the wisdom of the English/ British Volk no less and their earnest desire for emancipation from the pernicious influence of right wing Europe.

No matter that a purveying of the right wing agenda and the blocking of anything suspiciously collective or leftish was pretty much the UK's main contribution to the EU under Labour and Tory governments and that Brexit itself was a right wing Tory idea with its own right wing offshoot political party.

No matter that aside from Nigel Farage being given gratis the kind of airplay that other politicians would pay millions for by the BBC to promote the Leave agenda, Brexit was of course also supported by those brave & honest mouthpieces of the working people: the right wing Tory press. Brexit supporting readership of the Sun: 70% Daily Express: 70% Daily Mail: 66% Telegraph: 55%.

But no: Brexit meant Brexit: the uncontaminated and pure "will of the people".
It seriously amazes (and worries) me that the raison d'ętre of this site can be entirely erased from Brexit supporting minds so easily.

No self criticism or attempt at analysis. No acknowledgement whatever that their own thoughts on Europe were perhaps of little consequence because they were in fact a small minority voting with a mass of right wing reactionaries and this is the worst thing: not a care that the lives & conditions the most miserable and impoverished people on this island would be made worse, because they claim: "It couldn't get any worse"...and who says?
Oh and no awareness whatsoever that the majority of their supposed fellow Brexiteers would in fact utterly despise their "lefty" politics.
