Are they going to surround and protect the military bases? Just when they do that, there will be a violent uprising in some provincial city. When they go there.. ..there will be a border incursion. .. ..when they go there, there wil lbe a naval incursion and taking over of some island somewhere. When they go there, there will be a quick as lightning occupy Maidan in Caracas. When the military go there ... There will be a top milinster or aide assassinated raising the need for personnel protection details. What the CIA really want is the military bases, in case you've not read the book :-) Russia has the right idea: This is an information war right now. Offer talks knowing they will be refused. Appeal to latinos in the US military. Speak of David v. Golaith. Do everything that seems reasonable and fair, to maintain and build support. Use Russian intelligence (both kinds). Keep an eye on everything, Keep powder dry. Do what you can reasonably do without becoming overstretched, and leverage it in the information space. Let time pass and survive.
