now. Very gratifying to get a tiny sliver of basic banking services - which I find quite useful - whilst making sure that they lose money by giving me the account.  All of the big banks are - I presume - bent as a three-pound note, so when I was obliged, for idiot bureaucratic reasons that I won't detail here, to get a high street bank account (having managed perfectly well without one for years, cash being an entirely adequate universal lubricant), I just went to the first schmuck-house in the local high street - which happened to be HSBC - and (knowing their particular rottenness) set out to lose them at least a trickle of money, whilst getting the handy use of a debit card for occasional small online purchases. Every time I get a statement of the absolutely minimal balance that I keep there, I can see again how their service to me puts them further and further into loss territory. A small strike against the ungodly, but a growing one... Nice!
