    Speaking of "political incoherence"....

I sometimes suspect Meyssan fancies himself a kind of modern Delphic Oracle, whose semi-intelligibile and crazy assertions indicate deep political wisdom, unfathomable by mere rational analysis. I don't usually bother reading him, but when I do his articles usually strike me as obscure, self-indulgent, inadequately sourced, full of dubious statements, and far from enlightening. To take a random example:

It was the US who, in 1979, forced the Shah to retire, and organised the return of Ayatollah Rouhollah Khomeini.

Ok, so why did/would the US force its client, installed by US/UK coup, to retire? Why would the US organize a hostile regime in one of the most influential middle east countries, apparently undermining its own interest in dominating the country and the region? Why has it been torturing Iran ever since? Didn't the people of Iran overthrow the Shah? Sources?

    Life's too short.
