A bit disappointing from Orlov .. Archived Message

There are some strange juxtapositions such as:

"To be sure, there are some serious problems with nuclear power. One is that its share of overall energy production is quite small—4%"

    ..together with..

"Most people know that radiation can give them cancer, and invisible things that can kill you are definitely the stuff of nightmares, although what gives most people cancer is not radiation but perfectly legal products of the fossil fuel industry and the chemical industry."

    - There is also a long spiel about different energies of radiation which are apropos of nothing, because the inverse-square law applies: With radioactive contamination of the food supply, high energy radiation is ingested therefore the source is less than the width of a cell away from your genetic material as opposed several centimeters or more - a difference of 10,000 fold in distance, at least, whose effect can be sqared with the inverse square law. Moreover, low energy-per-photon radiation of visible light and heat can never (or almost never) form free radicals.

Moreover, decontaminating the food supply is not a choice, like switching off a cell phone or a microwave, or sitting in the shade. It is an irreversible done-deal - can Iraqis just stop having deformed babies now? Is this what he is implying?

He also ignores the energy required to mine uranium, and assumes the subsidies of solar panels do not represent any more than simply recycled wealth that individuals could otherwise spend directly.

Almost every other part of this article seemed flawed in a similar way, and then as if to almost invite incredulity he ends by claiming deliberate release without even hinting at what evidence he has in mind.

Like Thierry Miessen, he seems to have suddenly gone a bit bonkers for some reason. Weird.
