And yes, the technics of it are pretty straightforward and doable. The problem has always been, as now, getting a critical mass of humankind not just to sign up, but to insist. I still wait to see any sign of such a tidal wave of psychological will to do it. Meanwhile, the Long Descent continues, unchecked, moving inexorably towards a head-on collision with our current, temporary population overshoot - also still continuing for a bit longer. The only place of which I know that has attempted one-child families is China. And they've failed to make it work.
