| "If international communities and other such wider federal bodies are to survive and prosper they must develop from independent democratic republics" This is very much a Schumachian notion, the tree grows from the roots up not the canopy down, witness our Queen silently voicing her protest against the Brexit mandate (to the very populace that voted for it). The Queen's difficult position is no coincidence for it she who has marginalised the monarchy and perverted the course of judicial influence on our legislature, her hand has been forced, she has allowed our constitutional monarchical rights to be subverted by succumbing to the blackmail of those within our institutions who are perfectly willing to exploit (and always have been), the position of the Crown for their own ends. A challenge to the tri-party system was inevitable but this is not at this time a sign of growth, on the contrary it exemplifies the rot that has set in within our state, for none of these "independents" are standing on a platform of electoral reform rather they are expressing dissatisfaction with our current system by attempting to subvert the mandate of the people utilising the outmoded methodologies of the past. There are very few (except the marginalised Greens and those within the British Liberal Party who still have some integrity), who are prepared to admit that the Brexit vote (another pi-polar exemplifier of divide-and rule), was presaged by the equally divisive and polarising propaganda exercise that was the referendum on electoral reform. I find it exasperating that commentators who proselytise for remaining within the European Union (whilst they posture their concern with the democratic rights of the British people), cannot grasp the notion that the anachronism that is the Union (and the subsequent "Balmoralisation" represented by first-past-the-post), is responsible for the debacle that is our attempted exit from the tyranny of the wider European federal state. |
