To be fair, TC has been doing sterling work, being one of the very few who've had the guts to question the ridiculous Russiagate narrative that's flooded over the US media for the last couple of years.

Also TC's argument sounds very similar to George Galloway's about his position at Talk Sport radio, where he gets to say stuff the BBC would never allow. In a real sense, almost everyone who lives and works in a capitalist society is on some kind of leash, aren't they? Everyone makes compromises don't they? My wife oftern remarks that if I'd been born into a poor family instead of a wealthy one, I'd have learned to bend the knee... or starve.

What's grotesque and depressing, and why we're doomed, is listening to journalists almost drooling when they talk about how much oil Venezuela has waiting to be properly exploited by... us. This is tragic. I thought they'ed heard about climate change? Only a while ago they were reporting on a campaign to keep the oil and gas in the ground in order to avoid a massive CO2 rise, all the world's ice melting and sea-level going up by tens of metres! Suddenly all that's forgotten, why?

It's because, regardless of what they proclaim, the well-paid and privileged cardinals of the great media church, love their comfort too much and fundamentally reflect the same basic world-view of powerful men like Donald Trump. Essentially, people like Guerin and the others at the BBC and Guardian, aren't that different from Trump at all. The real differences are only about rhetoric and style, not about substance. Trump of course has never bothered to learn how to speak like the BBC want him to speak, 'cause he didn't have to. Aristocrats don't follow the rules like the ghastly Oxbridge middle-class are trained to do. I often find Trump's clumsy honesty rather refreshing.
