If criticism of Israel's government and the true character of the state, if criticism of the concept of Zionism, are so close to being anti-semitic as makes no difference, then we're in a really bad place politically. Acceptance that a tiny minority of the UK's population have special rights, the right not to be offended or feel uncomfortable, or their feelings for Israel are questioned... this all seems somewhat absurd.

What about my feelings of outrage when the Israeli Army guns down dozens of unarmed protestors, many of them children on the Gaza border? Why should Jews who support Israel have more rights than me or any other UK subject? What about Muslims living in the UK, what about their feelings? Why are we creating a special category for UK Jews?

If we are going to accept that UK Jews have 'special' feeling for Israel and feel uneasy when Israel is attacked or criticised; then surely this cuts both ways? Meaning that when Israel commits another set of warcrimes and cuts down more Palestinians, then British Jews should be asked to condemn Israel's actions, surely? Everything can't be based on how British Jews feel and everyone else has to fall into line behind them or be labelled as an anti-semite, what about the rest of the population and their feelings about the latest Isreali bloodbath, which British Jews seem not all that concerned about.
