Corbyn isn't defending himself, because he doesn't know how to. He's not spent his political career under the blazing light of media and public scrutiny. He's spent his career pottering about on the fringes outside the limelight, moslty as a kind of anachronistic mascot, a leftist in a reservation reminding the Blairites of everything they'ed trashed in the Labour Party. If he had spent his time on the cutting edge of national politics, he would have been forced to develope other skills and strengths, or been crushed by the machine and his failings revealed far sooner and been pushed away to the backbenches again. Now it's all a bit late for him to change his ways. Ways that were suited to his old role in the cosy shadows, but are inadequate for his current position. Corbyn is clearly a busted flush. One can no longer make excuses for him or his second-rate team. The real tragedy for ordinary people will be if he drags down his suporters in the country with him and the Blairites return, with a vengeance. That could happen, if Corbyn 'succeeds' in completely demoralising his base and undermining it. Doesn't he understand any of this?
