Corbyn, and those around him, don't seem to understand the concept of 'grasping opportunities', rather they do the opposite, the fumble and drop them from their hands even when they are handed to them on a silver platter. Assange was such an opportunity, in my opinion. One could have occupied the high moral ground and stuck to it from the beginning of the affair. Innocent until proven guilty, the right to a fair trial, allegations are not the same as charges. There were no charges. Why is this all taking so long? Like aunty semitism, Corbyn is so ####ing apathetic, it hurts. Taking on the Guardiana confronting it for what it really is and the BBC, isn't some 'luxury' for the left, but a necessity and makes good strategic sense, because the media is already dispised by huge swathes of the population, and rightly so, so why not capitalise on that and blow on the coals to one's advantage? Because Corbyn not only doens't have the 'smarts' to do this, he doesn't want to. The system rewards confidence and self-belief, like Thatcher had. Enough people liked her style of leadership to hand her the keys to Downing Street, only we'll never see a left version of Thatcher, because the system isn't configured that way.
