appeal in Feb 2012 which they refused in June 2012 at which point JA skipped bail and refused to abide by the terms of the judgement of the UK Supreme court.
I assume the Supreme Court agreed to the bail terms for JA to continue between February and June 2012 hence my reference to it. The EAW is the warrant for arrest but the arrest was appealed and bail terms set in the UK ( the Swedish prosecutor had sought JA's imprisonment but this was thrown out by the courts when they granted bail if you recall.)
I didn't mention the US Supreme Court - maybe this is a lack of perception on your part!
:"The argument, whoever makes it, that JC is keeping quite on this to actually help JA, it perverse as it is morally bankrupt & dishonest; akin to arguing that a person mustn't protest that somebody is being currently tortured, and may die at any moment, because, just maybe, one day that person could be in power who can help end this.
If you can't see that this is moral cowardice & a morally dishonest position, then you are no different the man who you keep finding excuses & apologies for."
I have never made such an argument - all I suggested was that JC's advisers probably argued that JC's words would be twisted by the press to use against JC and in doing that they would make matters even worse for JA. ( This is like the regularly mentioned "kiss of death" that flows from an endorsement by anyone the press hate ). I of course added that I think they would have been wrong to do so - I used the phrase "wrongly imo". I don't know whether JC's advisers did so advise but isn't this what press advisers normally do? I don't know what JC thought or what his reasons are for not commenting further and so , AS I SAID, there is no point in speculating on that.
So to make it perfectly clear I did not say "that JC is keeping quite on this to actually help JA" I did not suggest he should do that or that anyone should do that.
You are accusing JC of failing to act in relation to JA when he has spoken for JA before he became leader and when most of the rest of Parliament have spoken against JA. This is the very essence of "perverse as it is morally bankrupt & dishonest".
Whilst people continually want to kick JC unfairly when he is down I will continue to point out his virtues compared to a great deal of humanity. IMO, the man deserves a Nobel Prize not a kicking from the WSWS and the Friends of Israel.
