Like so many of his kind, there's always been this tendency to reward style and wit, over basic journalistic qualities, like reporting what you observe. Way too much journalism is about entertaining the masses rather than informing them, because that might make them feel uneasy and that might stop them consuming. The newspapers deliver readers to advertisers for a price. That's modern jouranlisms dirty secret, which cannot be addressed if one wants a succesful career. And it's close to libel to label Assange a 'sexual predator.' Apart from the events in Sweden, which are complex, strange and clearly consensual on all sides, facts White choses to ignore; there have been no other women coming forward with stories about Assange's predatory sexual behaviour, which is unusual if he was a sexual predator. There's something sad about White having the glittering career, an illustration of how degenerate our media really is, whilst Assange, who really challenged power and revealed it's true face and the cosy relationship journalists had to it, languishes in jail waiting to be handed over to he brutality of a terror state determined to take revenge on him.
