His views on AS are not interesting. Let us ignore them, lest we lapse into Lifeboat habit of missing the point in order to do a bit of virtue-signalling and one-upping. CLs views of on capital controls however deserve attention because they have not been properly answered, as far as I can find - tho it is also true that he has not done enough to prove his case, which is that the Corbyn project will get a freer ride even under WTO rules than it would as a full member of the EU bound by its competition rules. It goes without question that EU will certainly attempt to sabotage any popular socialistic project. The Question is, how far does it have the power to do so? Some of us were “in and against” in 2016, a slogan preferable to Remain and Reform, because a foreseeably messy divorce could be even worse for our trade, given accrued entanglements, than an unhappy divorce, but the EU would still an enemy to be against. But it is not enough to deride the European Central Bank as a monstrous idea, as Yaroufakis does twenty minutes into this clip. It is not just a monstrous idea, it is a monstrous fact. Will a socialistic project face more obstacles inside than out? This is a question worthy of focus. Information would be welcome. https://www.yanisvaroufakis.eu/2018/09/24/discussing-socialism-brexit-and-the-progressive-international-with-jeremy-corbyn-at-the-edinburgh-video/
