Message from Momentum to Labour members in Greater Manchester: Momentum are disappointed and deeply concerned that the Labour Metro Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, has decided to attack construction workers in Manchester working on the Regent Road/Chester Road project. This was following their collective decision to walk off the job after not being paid. Mayor Burnham decided to attack these workers from sunny Cannes where he was attending an International Property Convention. He labelled them arrogant and urged the police to investigate. You can read the article by clicking the link, here. Many Labour and Momentum activists are alarmed at Andy Burnham's own arrogance and anti-worker rhetoric. His comments were in stark contrast to the Labour Mayor of Salford, Paul Dennett, who offered his support and solidarity. Today Momentum emailed key contacts in the Greater Manchester region a model motion to be circulated and voted on at your branches and CLPs.
