Anyway and anytime they can be shamed and reminded of their complicity and dishonesty by enough people they will start to get concerned about their "brand" and image and more people will hear it. I think it's the last remaining way "people" can strike back

I think this is the way forward on many issues.
Brand and image are super-important to media, business and think-tank entities.
Once their brand and image is sullied by being outed and shamed - threatening to eat into "brand integrity" and (thus) profits - only then will they begin to change.
Witness how British galleries recently dropped the Sackler family brand from their prestigious donors' list. This has made world-wide news and people are informed the Sacklers are dropped because they are behind the OxyContin pharmaceutical brand that put the opioid crisis on steroids.
Prior to this public sacking of the Sacklers, a lot of private citizens posted comments about the Sacklers and Opioids on the galleries' websites ... named and shamed them, in other words. Without this public pressure, the galleries would've been happy to continue to take the Sackler shilling, as they've done for ages.
Many establishment institutions and revered global tourist destinations - still take money from corrupt bankers, arms-linked companies, corrupt Congo-mining linked entities etcetera... A lot of awareness can be raised by merely pointing out these hypocrisies. The younger millenials respond to these hypocrisies being pointed out and vote with their feet: witness falling meat, dairy and sugar trades due to youth-fuelled swing to healthier vegetarian and vegan lifestyles
