I have a lot of time for Craig Murray. However, one of the times he did seriously disappoint me was after the result of the Scottish Independence referendum when he was abusively scathing of those voting for the status quo, who were fellow citizens of Scotland, and were actually entitled to vote as they thought fit. I cannot now remember his exact words but they were very unpleasant and unfair and revealed his sometimes intemperate and "difficult" character. Hence his less than cordial relationship with the SNP. On the other hand, it is this fieriness and moral outrage, allied to a keen intellect, including a great grasp of the character of politicians and the intricacies of their behaviour, that makes him so formidable. That's probably why he isn't invited that often in the media to make comments, he's just too dangerous.

This is a first-rate article, but he's no journalist, he has a conscience and a deep moral perspective. Craig has worked really hard on this material, and it is totally damning. Can you imagine a single main-stream journalist writing anything other than a dry recitation of the facts,, if they were inclined to do so, and being far more sympathetic to the government position. Indeed it must be a condition of employment that a journalist has to leave his ethical life behind. Any journalist is ruthlessly side-lined if they seek to regain a moral perspective and who then suffer deliberately targeted derision, such as John Pilger, and Julian Assange, in an effort to keep them quiet and the public in ignorance. .

And I think the title of the piece should have made it clear we're talking about a Labour Party under a different leadership, though of course, there'll be a good number of Labour MPs who would have been either involved in the Chagos affair or be equally morally corrupted.
