In fact he's so honest the BBC avoid him like the plague. I think though one can argue that Putin's actions in Crimea were massively more legal than anything Israel's done. Crimea is Russian territory because the people living there are overwhelmingly Russian and voted overwhelmingly to join Russia once more. The people living in Golan won't be asked, unless Israel were to just ask the Jews who've occupied the land! I don't think one can really compare what happened in Crimea to Israel annexing Golan. Israel and US actions are much, much, worse. But I imagine that's a view that one can't have and survive within our corporate media?
