us that made it just possible to get by. I reckon I saved the state a whole lot of money in return for that modest allowance, by saving my mam from the geriatric care facilities that she so dreaded. She died in her own bed, in her own flat, with me sitting with her. Just what she wanted. Not only is it sound economics, but it's also a properly humane approach. It could do with being funded properly, by the small general tax rise for funding civilised social services that most people seem to countenance, according to the polls - together with the long overdue swingeing tax rise on the wholly-unnecessary, wholly-useless, wholly-parasitical super-rich rentiers. Perhaps in a Corbyn-mediated sweet bye-and-bye...?
