Don't get this - because Tripoli is not a government.. Archived Message

recognised by anyone other than "the international community" - of the same people who organised the butchering of Qadhafi and destruction of the Libyan state. Tripoli isn't even supported by Misrata, and has numerous militias out of control. But there are very mixed signals on who supports Haftar's push to Tripoli, with it initially said on AJ that France, Egypt, the UAE and Russia supported Haftar. Lavrov is opposing foreign intervention, ie NATO, while the UN calls for a political solution. But the "government" in Tripoli, or Misrata, has launched airstrikes on Haftar's forces, despite talk of a NFZ. I don't actually believe this CIA talk, though it may reflect the ambiguous relations with the US under Qadhafi - who rashly agreed to halt nuclear activities in return for economic relations with the US, and then was stabbed in the back, and arse, by NATO. There also appears to be clear support for Haftar and the Libyan national army by most Libyans, who don't support the "government of national unity", called that because it isn't. Haftar may have visited Salman, but he didn't go to Tel Aviv... my two cents, could be mistaken...
