I believe it was in May 2017 that Swedish prosecutors announced they were withdrawing their arrest Archived Message

warrant for JA and halting the investigation - this was 6 months after they took JA's statement in the UK ( 14/11/16). By December 2017 the US had issued a warrant for JA's arrest and started extradition proceedings. On this basis it is possible that the US extradition process would be regarded as first in line and take precedence.

It surely must be clear to a 2 year old that all the "evidence" against JA in relation to these Swedish so called allegations against JA is of a she said versus he said which can never produce a guilty verdict with a fair trial requiring proof beyond reasonable doubt. Further, the evidence from texts and witness statements show that the 2 claimants never accepted they were raped or mollested.

As with the US claims the Swedish prosecutor's claims have all been one-sided and the EAW and extradition cases are all based on these claims without anyone looking at the defence's position. If both Sweden and the US produce authentic pieces of paper that justify a prosecution they get hold of their victim - the fact that these pieces of paper could all be a tissue of lies prepared by State experts backed up by witnesses under duress or bribery need never be considered until the actual trial, if at all.

Looking at certain comments on line ( this was linked to from CM's comments : http://spinninghugo.wordpress.com/2019/04/12/assange-extradition-and-human-rights/ ) - it would seem that JA hasn't got a hope in hell of getting around extradition to the USA. Although I wonder why the UK courts wouldn't take into consideration the inability to get a fair trial in view of excessive interference by US officials and politicians and the media in muddying the waters there as well as the notorious prison conditions in the US which in most people's eyes would be considered torture.

The US have framed a charge that is easy to state but impossible to prove if there was a fair trial. The only person who could witness conspiracy would be Chelsea Manning and she has refused to bear witness against JA.

Imo, the clear bias of the Tory state, MSM and the "Judiciary" with regard to JA makes me ashamed to be British. It's time this lot are cleaned up and kicked out.

If I were Corbyn I would go for a new law exempting all citizens and residents in the UK from extradition along the lines of the Russian Federation. At the same time put in place the ability to hold court cases in the UK for all serious offences where these were alleged to have been committed overseas with the co-operation of overseas states where necessary. This would prevent us from becoming a safe haven for criminals.

    cheers
