Probably I was a bit incoherent, I admit it. What I was pointing out is that a lot of what we accept as the quintessential English landscape probably is related or derives in part from its traditional ownership by "the landed gentry". I'm not saying that some things won't need to change, but I have been around too long not to know that change brings its own challenges and often some unfortunate unanticipated side effects. That for most people they "own" the landscape in a way as much as the person who's named on the title deeds and what does it matter who "owns" it, just as long as whoever does looks after the land properly and fairly, maybe they're doing a good job. However there's a lot of uplands that are very badly managed, grouse shooting etc and this should very definitely change. But this is not just a UK problem, this article https://www.tni.org/en/publication/land-concentration-land-grabbing-and-peoples-struggles-in-europe describes similar problems in other European countries, in this case related to corporate take over in ever increasing amounts. In which case this sort of issue is related to the economic disparities in many countries. Anyway, thanks for the critique, I shall attempt something more rational next time!
