We've had Financialisation for a long time, 20 years plus, what's different here is the Financialisation of basic needs, such as water. The other thing to note is Foreign Direct Investment in all Nation states, how they drive deregulation and demand freedom of cashflows - a classic example of this was the Asian Financial Crisis of 1998, which of course, Capital Controls would have prevented. And what is the EU all about, Freedom of Capital Movement, which is a classic hallmark of neoliberalism. I've shared this on twitter, as it was useful for those without great knowledge of international finance and how it degrades, rather than enhances peoples lives.
