What's chilling is how now, in contrast to earlier years, like the McCarthy witch-hunt in the 1950's... huge swathes of the liberal/left have embraced this latest Russiagate Red Scare with a passion that's truly disturbing.

I blame a lot of it on the ghastly Obama era where the liberal/left were in political heaven for years. The shock of seeing tens of millions of ordinary Americans rejecting this Hollywood, media, upper-middle-class fantasy world, and voting for someone like Trump, has unhinged them totally and Maddow typifies this lurch into virtual madness.

What Aaron Mate is trying to explain is that it's not about the 'facts' anymore. They don't really matter to raving, partisans, like Maddow. Today it's all about the labels one hangs on the text, the facts.

It's interesting that the Guardian's American adventure has been such a disaster, whilst RT has focused on real journalism and employing Americans who are determined to challenge the US media church... doing what the Guardian should have done instead of joining the US media church which is so unpopular with vast swathes of the American public.

The Guardian could ask what exactly is so wrong with RT that so many American dissidents still want to work there? What's wrong with the texts, ideas and words used on RT? Isn't it a strange state of affairs where critical Americans are forced to go to RT to find a platform for their 'heretical' views?

Yet, it's obvious why the Guardian won't do it, because that would mean actually covering what they say on RT, and that wouldn't do. RT became the source of alternative information because the mainstream media refused to go there, just like Wikileaks and for the same reasons.
