Not so today. Today there are no spaces for real investegative journalism that examines US politics as the dirty and rather corrupt game it is. Somehow, their politics, has become part of our politics too; possibly because we have become so embedded in their imperial wars to a degree that was unthinkable and unacceptable half a century ago. Also, if UK journalists were to start digging into this particular steaming dungheap one would quickly find that interesting and powerful forces in the UK were also involved in the plot to stop Trump being elected president and subsequently the actions to bring him down, one way or another. The way the 'liberal' UK media, typified by the Guardian, has swung towards the Democrats in recent years, is remarkable. It's almost as if the liberal elite want to become part of the United States, a position they believe gives advantages and protections, internationally, and, from domestic opposition as well.
