http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-48353751?intlink_from_url=https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world&link_location=live-reporting-story which appears to be the HTS Public Relations arm operating from within this strange area within the BiBiC filled with a series of people all operating in anti-Western areas: http://monitoring.bbc.co.uk/about this I assume was the woman who wrote the above blurb on HTS in Idlib - basically saying HTS was Bad now its Good! : http://www.voxpol.eu/keynote-speaker-mina-al-lami/ "We are delighted to have Mina al-Lami as the keynote speaker at our upcoming conference in August. Mina al-Lami heads the long-established team of online jihadism experts at BBC Monitoring (BBCM). She is the editor of BBCM’s Jihadism page that features daily reports and insight on jihadist developments, trends, profiles and online platforms. Her team relies on meticulous data gathering to inform their analyses. Mina, who is a native Arabic speaker, has been closely monitoring and researching the activities of jihadist groups and individuals online for over a decade. This constant watch has allowed her to quickly detect shifts, trends, and the latest online tools and platforms jihadists experiment with and seek to exploit. Prior to joining the BBC in 2013, Mina was a senior visiting fellow at the London School of Economics where she focused on the subject of online radicalisation. She is a regular speaker at events related to jihadist groups and their media operations." ( as an aside I've never heard of Vox -pol before either but it seems to be funded by part of a multi-Billion euro funding package from the EU. Vox -pol has this "about us" blurb: "The VOX-Pol Network of Excellence (NoE) is a European Union Framework Programme 7 (FP7)-funded academic research network focused on researching the prevalence, contours, functions, and impacts of Violent Online Political Extremism and responses to it." - so looks like a bubble inside a bubble .... ) - I've never heard of BBC monitoring before but I love the irony of one of their stated benefits: "Leverage the trust, independence and accuracy of the BBC. Our insight is free of bias, propaganda or hyperbole." https://monitoring.bbc.co.uk/ Nothing of course on the OPCW leaked report on why Douma was not attacked by the Syrian Government! So much for the Middle East specialists of the BiBiC. cheers
