Fascinating study from Ramin Mazaheri on Cultural Revolutions, Chinese and Iranian, and Les Gilets Archived Message

Jaunes. Note in particular that Ramin compares four revolutions - American, French, Chinese and Iranian - and concludes that the first two were - and remain today - incomplete, because neither managed a Cultural Revolution for the common, rank-and-file citizens, especially the rural people, whereas the Chinese and Iranian revolutions did achieve this.

Ramin Links to all of his 8-part series in this last part. Quite a lot of unfamiliar/heavily-negatively-propagandised-in-the-West ideas to take in. Perhaps the most promising, out of a long list, is the idea that all 'leaders' should spend mandatory - sic! -time, every year, doing demanding manual work right alongside others who get their livings routinely doing such work. No shirking or dodges allowed; either do your stint, fully embedded amongst your fellow toilers, or get removed from all political power-wielding games permanently. Might be a good idea to distribute all jobs by lot, so that no chancer gets to game the system to get him/herself the cushy/token ones. Do yer bloody stints, butterflies! Every feckin' year!

Personally, I'd also abolish most of the prison system entirely, and substitute exactly this sort of rank-and-file public-service work as the main way of dealing with anyone convicted of any sort of crime; but particularly for anyone from the richest-ten-percenter social class, to straighten out their arsey, self-important, heavily-reality-shielded ideas a good deal. Electronic tagging, with amends-making manual service work, would be a whole lot cheaper and more just than the vile Western prison system; and actually productive of useful results too.

Ramin, an Iranian, lives in France, where he's the chief correspondent for Press TV:

PS: Don't you just love the idea, introduced near the end of this piece, of Confucian Socialism for the East Asiatic peoples, to go alongside Islamic Socialism for the peoples of the - so-called - Middle East?
