Jeremy Hunt tweets this afternoon from Glasgow - without irony or a mention of Assange - where he's given a speech on media freedom: Jeremy Hunt: "A free media is not a "Western" value but a pillar of a thriving society, benefiting people across the world. To embrace the opportunities of a free society we must defend the press. My speech in Glasgow to #World News Media Congress @Newspaper World" Dr Sean Love, one of the medical doctors who's attended to Assange at the Embassy and who has already raised alarms, tweets today: Dr Love: "After years of medical evaluations, @UNSpecial Rapporteur on Torture agrees with our team's findings: "He has been subjected to intense psychological torture comparable to some of the gravest cases from interrogation prisons around the world". |
