I'm not sure whether any question can pin down the British civil service - just watch a few episodes of Yes Minister for the outline.

Clearly Duncant would not admit to a War crime by the UK and US - so the question wasn't answered at all . This is because the answer is that they were probably behind the leaning on the OPCW Technical Secretariat to produce the bastardised version of their research teams. To rely on the OPCW saying they considered everything but despite clear evidence their teams found to the contrary they thought it best to ignore that is just what Governments do so why would Dumcant see anything wrong in that.

Maybe we should have encouraged the Israelis to get rid of Duncan when not so Shy Masot wanted to.

Finally if Duncan had admitted the OPCW was in error where would this leave the UK's Scruples sorry Skripals policy!

A letter to the Government from other MPs would need to tear apart the Yes Minister response to show what an empty response it was and focus on the failure of any inquiry to include internal technical evidence that directly refutes the conclusion of the report to which it relates.

I think I need to dig out Postel's thoughts on this.

    cheers
