The west is not several thousand years old. Archived Message

Europe: an invention of the middle ages. Christendom sliced totally in the 11th century, with the Orthodox centre, a large Nestorian movement in central Asia and a small (even more) heretical rump in the crazy barbarian west. Reverting to man-worship and nature-worship: to the old paganism, might-is-right; the Christian centre (now, Russia) subhuman. The new "western" innovation was in the cult of domination arising out of the the cult of the Filioque: man is God, specifically a certain man living mostly in Rome, so all others must surrender to the holy Bishop. Charlemagne got things going couple of hundred years earlier. Yes it's a marvel what has arisen in the west, as if the spirit of truth and beauty burned brighter in the long night of humanism (man-worship), dominator culture and the pagan cults of reason. Past tense. For me salvaging what's worth it means going back a long long way - with a few miracles thrown in too.
