some other thoughts after reading Skwawkbox and the case of Vaz the looney! Archived Message

Great - the more people are aware of this the better. There are so many questions that the last few days have raised in relation to CW's "trial by duck pond" here are just a few: 1. Has anyone officially reversed the decision to cancel CW's suspension - to date we only seem to have shadowy "party official" statements to the effect that the suspension remains. 2. How can a decision to cancel the CW suspension be annulled by one member of the NEC panel - Vaz. 3. Vaz was appointed to the panel at the last moment when someone dropped out - who was that and why did they drop out and who appointed Vaz. 4. Vaz said afterwards he was under medical treatment on the day of the hearing, so why did he not recuse himself in favour of another panelist if he was not fit to adjudicate. https://skwawkbox.org/2019/06/29/vaz-nonsense-underlines-importance-of-members-organising-for-reselections/ - if Vaz can change the decision now then this is double jeopardy for which CW should not suffer. Would Vaz have disclosed all this if everyone had just accepted the decision? 5. Can CW declare he wants to stand again for Labour before the closing date of 8th July - the next NEC meeting is 9th July! 6. What steps are being taken to suspend all members who agreed to publicly publish the 27th June letter - criticising not just the disciplinary process but also the decision - as being an action that has brought the party into disrepute? If that is done and they are suspended are they unable to declare their intention to stand again for Labour by 8th July? 7. What powers do Labour staff members have over any of these proceedings and how can these powers be democratized. cheers
