This is almost beyond belief. The ship may have been in Gibraltan waters (although this is not clear), but was breaking no Gibraltan law. "... there was reason to believe ..." FFS. So those brave men of the Royal Marines boarded a commercial vessel, which was unarmed and posed no threat to Gibraltar or the UK, detained it without any legal basis as far as I can tell.They really are heroes!
Next they'll be boarding ships in the middle of the Atlantic because "there is reason to believe" that they might have Palestinian olives on board, or Marijuana grown legally in the Caribbean. Perhaps they would be better shooting down those planes carrying "Israeli" grapefruits grown on stolen Palestinian land.
