“Jewish sensitivities”. This is a generalising idea which suggests that ‘the Jews’ are one unified group with one shared outlook. Have a look at this week’s @JewishChron for excellent critical article on the Jews who attended a Katie Hopkins talk. Not my ‘sensitivities’ there.
Any time anyone defends minorities we have to be careful not to generalise the minority we are talking about. I may well have made the same mistake sometimes. But we end up in a continuation of the very prejudices we think we are combatting.
Possible PM hijacks Auschwitz and suggests a social democrat type politician would enable such a thing to happen again - and the media hardly blink. Yet they pore over every possible slight or ambiguity and cite it as definite antisemitism.
People are missing that there is a battle of world outlooks going on. Jews are distributed across the world as peoples of many nations and of one. ‘Nation’ is being promoted as the saviour (Trump, Bannon, Farage,Netanyahu,Orban). Some of us reject such a vision.
