would cause to USD-hegemony - and to the entire world economy if it involved the blocking of Hormuz - that is causing some sane, relatively-reality-connected members of the US gic-class criminals to start feeling out a more 'peaceable', diplomacy-flavoured line of foreign policy: Pull back from the brink before the neocon loonies tip everything over the edge, and all the gics' 'assets' as well as everything else goes to ratshit. (Just think of all those hallucinatory derivatives 'assets' just waiting for the trigger that collapses them all into evaporating candy-floss detritus...)

They understand such a chronic-overstretch fiasco to be a real possibility, because properly clued-in and sane people in the US already know that the 'invincible US military' is actually, more and more obviously, a hollowed out shell with relatively little - actually-effective - substance left. Apart, that is, from a single huge wave of - sub-standard - munitions and cannon-fodder grunts to throw, just once and quite probably not very effectively, at the next target - such as Iran - and then... eclipse of Anglozionist imperial power, and the departure of USAmerica into a relatively quiet chrysalis phase, where it re-invents itself.

Greer gives a very entertaining and insightful scenario about all this in his page-turner slightly-in-the-future novel 'Twilights Last Gleaming' (qv!)
