Mr Brown said that he wonders if he could have done more to prevent the country rushing into war in 2003. And then he thought 'bollocks', I don't want to do anything silly, like resigning on a matter of principle, which might jeopardise my chnces of succeeding Tony as PM. If shit hits the fan, anyway, Tony can carry the can.
