When you see returns an investment return at 20% and large annual incomes from these commercial ventures, you have to ask yourself "WTF is the government doing in spending taxpayers money on these self-sustaining commercial endeavours?" The whole ETS system is a scam, money siphoned off by unscrupulous operators who have a lot of lobbying clout in political circles. The ETS needs to be scrapped forthwith. NZ was one of the few countries that insisted this system should stay, no wonder when you read this sort of thing, and when you're told that NZ plans to meet its Paris climate commitment by purchasing fully 80% of its planned CO2 reductions from other countries The logic as to how effective this would be if every other country did the same thing is has never been discussed in New Zealand.
