US/UK Trump spat Archived Message Posted by dovetailjoint on July 9, 2019, 7:22 am What I found amusing is the BBC's attitude to these 'leaks' where their US correspondent John Soppel, and others have followed; argued, effectively, that this was a 'conspiracy.' Which is unusual as they usually sneer at 'conspiracy theories.' He hinted that maybe the Trump adminisration 'leaked' the memos themselves! Cuo bono! I've heard them mention this, who benefits from the leaks. They rarely do this in relation to other actors or situations. So the concept isn't totally alien to the BBC journalists, they just apply it very, very, selectively.
