I'm beginning to wonder, watching Cornyn's lack of smarts and guts, whether all his support for Palestinian rights was really all it seemed to be. Was it real, or was it just... 'politics', politicians doing what they need to do to create a profile for themselves, a brand? Corbyn seems unable and unwilling to defend himself against anti-semitic smears, or even robustly define and explain what's happening and why. If he doesn't feel righteous anger now, when will he? I always thought he was the wrong person for the job thrust upon him, but to demoralise the people who supported him, instead of rallying them to his cause is worse than anything he's done. He might not have the guts for a fight, but to undermine those who might want to take up the challenge is really pathetic. But isn't this what Labour has always done down the decades? Isn't their role precisely this, to stop working people from understanding what's going on and hinder them in organising and taking control over their own lives? Labour is 'responsible' and 'patriotic.' Labour plays by the rules and loses, and takes the rest of the working class with.
