Coincidentally, I was just thinking about this; how little public or media 'opposition' there is to our vast military expenditure on all manner of super-expensive weapons, many designed specifically to wipe entire cities and their innocent civilian populations off the mapl, literally. The moral depravity of such a strategy is rarely touched on. I mean if Hitler and the Nazis were Evil swine for murdering a few million in their ghastly death-camps, what does that make 'Good' people like us, who plan to turn tens of millions into ashes in a few hours of genocidal attacks?

The US squanders at least a trillion dollars, a year, on their weapons, the rest of the world about the same, combined. Think what one could do with two trillion dollars to make people's lives better, or clean-up the environment, or address global warming properly? Yet, we hardly ever talk about this colossal waste of precious resources or what we could do with them if we weren't ruled by madmen. The economics of the arms industry are off limits in our media, or any programmes about the destructive power of our atomic weapons. All that high-tech and computer aided design going nowhere.

It's odd how we can 'afford' all these weapons and wars of destruction, yet we live in the age of austerity.
