The 'they' being the government of that time, fighting the General Strike, but by extension the entire English-raj class, of whom Reith was a shyster-on-the-make hanger-on and servitor. Behind a - still - constantly-maintained front of 'impartiality', 'balance', 'strict factual honesty' and all of the rest of the beeb's very own in-hourse self-advertising Permanent Bullshit Blizzard, the rot of blatant and unwavering partiality has been there from the outset. When the beeb speaks hostilely of 'state broadcasters' such as RT, it needs only to look in the mirror to see the longest established state-mouthpiece broadcaster in the world. Self- and world-deceiving schmucks! Orwell's ghastly experiences in the bowels of the beast are well captured in the 'doublethink' miasma laid out in 'Nineteen Eighty Four'; still going as strongly as ever, quite evidently. |
